We Are Young Life One

We believe EVERY kid deserves to hear the Gospel.

Young Life One is a relational based mentoring program that works with local partnering agencies in an effort to love foster, incarcerated, homeless, and trafficked youth holistically, with the love of Christ. We aim to help provide physical needs, while introducing them to Jesus Christ, helping them grow in their faith, providing them with the sense of family, and leading them toward self-sustaining adulthood. We are currently in 40 different cities throughout the United States.

Studies show the impact of that having one caring adult in a teen's life after experiencing trauma can aid in brain recovery. Our leaders aim to be that caring adult. We are trained in trauma intervention, as well as post trauma care. Our pasts can dictate our futures if not properly cared for and allowed to heal. Our team aims to foster healing.

The Hard Truth

80%

of the people enslaved in sex trafficking are currently in the foster system.

Within 2 years of aging out of foster care at 18,

7 out of 10

kids are dead, homeless or in jail.

The average foster youth lives in

13

different homes before the age of 18.

80%

of people incarcerated in the state of California are or were in the foster system.

Almost

40%

of the homeless in the U.S. are under 18.

We are committed to walking with kids through all avenues of life—no matter what, without judgment. We assist with job prep, legal issues, the foster system, teen pregnancy, etc.. We partner with local agencies to assist with physical health, mental health and housing. And we have FUN. We have weekly large group events, small group gatherings and spend time with students one-on-one. Each summer we take our middle and high school students to camp, where they hear the hope of Jesus, eat three meals a day and are simply given time to be kids.

Our goal is to show kids Jesus and break the cycle of homelessness, use of the foster care system, trafficking, and incarceration in students and families. We assist with post-graduation plans, college prep/scholarship applications, job readiness, trade-school, etc., to increase the likelihood of thriving versus merely surviving adulthood. Our ministry does not stop with graduation. We stay connected with students, as they learn to navigate new life chapters.
